Kuala Lumpur, 24th February 2017 – Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd (GSC) presented a cheque of RM30,000.00 to Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone at GSC Signature today.  In conjunction with the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December 2016, GSC has hosted a fashion show themed Rogue Vogue at GSC Mid Valley Megamall to launch its limited edition Star Wars t-shirts, all specially designed for a charitable cause in support of the children from Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone, Selangor.

The limited edition Star Wars t-shirts were inspired by Rogue One-themed graffiti art in the cinema.  Four talented designers styled and showcased unique fashions of the t-shirts during a media event that kicked-off GSC’s fundraising project for the children of Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone, Selangor.  The t-shirts, available in either black or white, were bundled with Rogue One concession combo of a regular popcorn and a soft drink.  The project raised RM30,000 with the support of our customers and Star Wars fans.

“We would like to thank everyone who supported this meaningful cause.  The fundraising project wouldn’t be a success without our customers and our partners.  We hope this fund would contribute towards improving the lifestyle of the children at Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone,” said Koh Mei Lee, CEO, Golden Screen Cinemas.

Present at the event were GSC’s friends from the media, Angie Retnam, Chairperson of Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone and some of the children of Cornerstone, as well as Koh Mei Lee along with the GSC team. This charitable event was enlivened with a dance performance by the children from the home itself.

“We are operating the children’s home, but we cannot do it alone.  We need people like you to be part of our mission and help us in running the home.  Join hands with us.  Help give these children a better future,” said Angie Retnam, Chairperson of Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone, Selangor.
