Malaysian TI5 PubStomp in TGV Cinemas 1 Utama

Calling out all gamers and DOTA fans! Great news coming your way!

TGV Cinemas, one of Malaysia’s leading exhibitor and multiplex cinema operators is partnering with MET to bring the Malaysian TI5 Pubstomp to you with the live screening of the finals of DOTA2 in TGV Cinemas 1 Utama at 1am on August 9, 2015.

Priced at RM25 per ticket only, fans and gamers alike can come together and cheer for their favourite team right here in TGV Cinemas. Each ticket is inclusive of a free bottle of mineral water, unlimited entries to the cinema hall (since the tournament may go on for at least 8 hours!) and the opportunity to take part and win fantastic prizes such as movie passes, TGV Cinemas MovieClub memberships and so much more.

The demand for tickets have been overwhelming. “In fact, two halls which were allocated for the screening were sold out barely after 30 minutes tickets were made available for sale! Seeing the demand, we are now opening two additional halls with a total of 289 seats for this exclusive screening” said TGV CinemasSenior Marketing Manager, Celeste Koay.

“In addition to that, the candy bar will also be well stocked and operating throughout the live screening so customers can still get any of our popcorn, drinks or hot foods at any time,” added Koay.

Recognised as one of the biggest eSports tournament, DOTA2 (Defence of the Ancients) is known as a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) whereby two teams of five players each, play against each other with the objective of destroying the opposing team’s “Ancient” which is located in a giant structure at the centre of the base.

What makes this year’s tournament all the more exciting is our Malaysian team, Fnatic lead by local DOTA2 legend, Mushi and supported by veteran players, Ohaiyo, Kyxy, KecikImba, and JoHnNy have a very strong chance of making into the finals.

Koay added that this is not the first time the cinema chain is providing alternative content to cinema goers. “Last year, we screened the World Cup FIFA 2014 and customers thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We look forward to more opportunities to bring in alternative content to enhance and redefine the cinema experience for our customers,” Koay elaborated.

Tickets are currently available for sale via TGV Cinemas’ website, mobile app and at TGV Cinemas 1 Utama ticketing. For updates about the event or to purchase tickets please visit or follow TGV Cinemas on Facebook, Twitter, LINE and Instagram.
