Petaling Jaya, 13 November – It’s an accomplishment and breakthrough for “The Kid from the Big Apple 2: Before We Forget”, with its hall bookings hitting half a million ringgit even before its release in the cinemas. This sequel to last year’s “The Kid from the Big Apple” is without a doubt one of the most sought-after and highly anticipated local Chinese movie this year.
Movie distributor GSC Movies launched the hall booking campaign for “The Kid from the Big Apple 2: Before We Forget” in late October and received an overwhelming response. As of yesterday, there is a total of 153 booked screenings with an expected thirty thousand audience, making it a breakthrough for a Malaysian Chinese movie to hit half a million ringgit box-office even before its general release in the cinemas.
“The Kid from the Big Apple 2: Before We Forget” stars Ti Lung (Tommy Tam), Tan Qin Lin, Tan Jason, Debbie Goh, Shaun Tam and Lenna Lim, and will be released in cinemas this Thursday, 16 November. There is also a surprise cameo featuring Ti Lung’s wife Amy Tao in the movie.
This sequel continues from the first movie, where loving grandfather Gen reunites with his daughter Sophia and granddaughter Sarah after some years. However, something extraordinary happens and changes the course of their lives. Regardless of the outcome, they conclude that as long as they stay together as a family, they can ultimately overcome any adversity.
