Warner TV adds Another Legendary Character to its Lineup
Kuala Lumpur (13 September 2017) – The year is 1989 and a legend begins to emerge. A scientific prodigy who is often misunderstood by his own family, neighbours and classmates, he’s known around the world for his iconic role in The Big Bang Theory. He is nine years old and his name is Sheldon Lee Cooper.
Through the new show Young Sheldon, viewers will get a chance to know this eccentric and extraordinary boy when he was in his childhood. The series revolves around his innocent yet awkward day to day encounters in East Texas, where he lives with his family and attends high school. Iain Armitage plays Sheldon Cooper whilst Jim Parsons, who currently playing the character of Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory will narrate the series as his older, present-day self.
Slated to premiere same day as the US on Tuesday 26 September, Warner TV will offer a double heavyweight premiere with the launch of The Big Bang Theory Season 11 at 8.10pm, followed by a sneak first episode of Young Sheldon at 8.35pm.
Warner TV will be available for free preview on Astro from Thursday 21 September to Sunday 8 October, allowing fans to get access to new seasons of Gotham and Lethal Weapon as well. Following in October, Warner TV will premiere the latest seasons of Good Behavior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow.
Playing on the idea of “escapism”, Warner TV and Astro are partnering to bet fans that they will not be able to get away from its addictive line. Hosting a 4-day Escape Room Challenge from Thursday 5 October to Sunday 8 October at Sunway Pyramid, the event will encourage participants to tap into their problem solving skills to get out of 6-show themed rooms before the timer runs out. The event will be open to the public and attendees will only need to like the Warner TV Asia Facebook page to enjoy all activities.
